Devlog 1: Tank Texturing


Today I'll show off my improvements to the enemy tank textures and materials. 

Until now, the tanks have been using simple cell shade-like colours, where each material represents a solid colour. 

  1. This gave the tanks a more toon-like appearance. 
  2. I wanted to increase the realism of my game.

Low-poly light baking to the rescue!

Personally, I have always found Light Baking a tedious process in Blender until I found an amazing Addon called Simple Bake:

It's a paid Addon with a small fee of $16, well worth the money in my opinion as I was able to bake the textures for 6 tanks in a single day!
